So what are our statues made of? At Willowtree Gift Shop most of our statues are made of either resin, or a composite of crushed stone and resin or shaoshan stone and resin. Here’s a quick rundown of these materials.
Resin
Fiberglass resin is a durable synthetic polymer. Resin statues can have an excellent finish as can be seen in the Egyptian Cat Statue Bastet on the right.
Shaoshan Stone
Shaoshan Stone is a composite of crushed marble and resin. Depending on the finish a Shaoshan Stone statue can have many textures.
I adore this little statue of the Aztec Dog Xolos above – so cute. Also in Shaoshan Stone is this beautiful aqua blue finish Buddha to the right.
And not to forget the serene statue of the Peaceful Buddha above.
Pewter
Pewter is an alloy of tin, lead, antimony, and a bit of silver or copper. Tin is the greatest component with up to 99% content. When possible we always source Australian Made pewter statues such as this exquisite Pewter Wizard with Crystal Ball and the absolutely unique Pewter Wand on Stand decorated with faceted stones.
